Fiber optic polarization controllers create stress birefringence by winding the fiber around two or three circular disks, which creates separate wavefronts and changes the single mode
polarization state of the light transmitted in the fiber. The fast axis of the fiber is located in the plane of the wound disks, so the polarization state of any input light can be adjusted by rotating the paddles.
We can provide polarization controllers in three-ring configurations with 27mm or 56mm diameter winding discs, or in mini two-ring configurations with 18mm diameter winding discs.
A fiberless version of the polarization controllers is available, allowing users to wind their own single mode fibers with Ø900 µm jackets, or FC/PC or FC/APC fiber patch cords.
